Michael Ly, MD

Biography

Dr. Ly sees patients at our TEC Dunwoody Family Medicine practice. He is involved with our Family Medicine Residency Program, precepting and lecturing.


Dr. Ly completed his MD at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in 2011. He completed his residency in Family Medicine (2014) and a fellowship in Maternal Child Health (2015) at the PCC Wellness Center – Lake Street Family Health Center, in Oak Park, IL, where he then served as Attending Physician prior to joining the faculty at Emory in 2017. Dr. Ly’s primary clinical/scholarly focus is maternal-child health, underserved populations, and global health. He also spent time in Santa Clotilde, Peru in 2016, providing outpatient care, and inpatient and emergency service in a small hospital just off the Nap River.  It had about 20 beds, an ER, and 1 operating room.  He treated patients for malaria, diarrheal disease, tuberculosis, hepatitis, wound care, and some chronic diseases like hypertension and diabetes.  Dr. Ly plans to go back to Peru and hopes to take students and residents with him.
