Curriculum

Residents rotate through a traditional block system, spending 4 weeks at a location. After the first intern year, residents can begin choosing elective rotations or create their own based on their career goals or interests.

These experiences occur through multiple facilities in the area including at a level-one trauma center at Grady Memorial Hospital, a premier children's hospital in the Southeast at CHOA, and a nationally rated hospital at Emory University Hospital Midtown, as well as through the VA medical hospital in Atlanta. We have a new state-of-the art clinic designed especially for the patient-centered medical home, allowing space to conduct interdisciplinary and inter-professional team care and education, and chronic disease patient education seminars. We also conduct home visit for patients who have healthcare needs that require it.

Residents also participate in weekly didactic sessions, monthly journal clubs, and achieve certifications like BLS/ACLS, ALSO, PALS, NRP, and Advanced Wilderness Life Support.
