Dr. Hassanali grew up in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and in Atlanta, GA. She earned her medical degree from St. George's University. Her clinical interests include refugee health, global health, disaster relief, and Ayurveda( a type of alternative medicine).
Dr. Hassanali loves meeting new people, exploring the outdoors, travelling and trying new things. If she had any spare time for fun, she would enjoy traveling, performing Bikran yoga, listen to live music (jazz and blues), and would spend time with family and friends.
When asked why she chose the Emory Family Medicine Residency program, she explained that she loves Atlanta, the southern hospitality, warm weather and lots to do, as well as Emory is an internationally-recognized outstanding academic institution.
She states that if she had not become a physician, she would be an international journalist.
In addition to English, Dr. Hassanali speaks Hindi, Urdu, Gujarati, and a little Spanish.
