Class of 2017
Emory Family Medicine Residency Program
Emory Family Medicine Center
4500 North Shallowford Rd.
Dunwoody, Georgia 30338
Donovan E. Johnson, MD grew up in LaFollette, Tennessee. He received his medical doctor degree from St. John University.
When time permits, he is often spending with my family and friends, doing yard work, gardening and “handyman” duties on a little farm where he lives. He enjosy anything outdoors (hiking, camping, hunting and Geo-caching), I also have a special interest in building/flying remote control airplanes and woodworking. He is an avid Tennessee Volunteer Football fan, sorry “Georgia /Georgia Tech” fans; he wears Orange on game days. He also enjoys playing tennis and listening to audiobooks while he drives.
His areas of clinical interests include Rural Family Medicine and Primary Clinical Care
When asked why he chose Emory, he explained that Emory has so much to offer, no matter what your interests are, whether it be academic, preventive or even rural medicine. I knew that by choosing Emory, I would be getting a great education from some of the top physicians in the country. But what sold me on choosing Emory, as my first choice, was the “small town” community feeling in a big metropolitan city, that I saw amongst the faculty, staff and other residents.
When asked what he might be if not a physician he stated he would be a farmer or teacher.
Languages spoken other than English: NONE, but he has a very strong southern accent.
