Family Medicine Student Programs

Medical School Year 1

In the first year of medical school, the Outpatient Experience (OPEX) uses the talents, expertise and exposure of primary care physicians, including many community Family Medicine doctors to teach real world medicine to Emory students. This required rotation allows students to work with a community physician a half day a week, every other week for the entire year. This allows students not only the opportunity to utilize skills learned in the classroom, but also to forge long-term relationships with both patients and a practicing physician and their staff.  For more information click on the link below: http://med.emory.edu/opex/
